Today professional, well trained EKG technicians are needed in different areas of the healthcare industry, including hospitals, physician's offices, cardiac rehabilitation clinics, and other medical settings. Their duties include assisting doctors and nurses with cardiac exams, such as EKGs and treadmill stress exams; EKG recording; taking care of the equipment; and communicating with the physician, nurse, patient, and the patient's family.
